About this artist

Self-taught Haitian artist Jean-Adrien Seide was born in Cayes on November 18, 1956. He moved to Venezuela when his father passed away. He paints highly structured landscapes, with a series of fields spreading out towards a distant horizon.

Jean Adrien Seide's themes derive from the River of Artibonite, the mountains of Jacmel, and the cascades from the famous Saut Mathurin or Peligre in Haiti. At first glance, his paintings look representational, but a more detailed examination leads to a fascination, and the fantastic element predominates over the immediate reality. 

His art has been shown in several countries, including the United States, Venezuela, Spain, Salvador, Canada, Haiti, and France. Seide is well-known among art collectors all around the globe, who like his simple landscapes.
