Haitian artist Bourmond Byron was born in Jacmel in 1920. On the advice of a friend, he joined the Centre d'Art to improve his painting of horses. His work is characterized by a greenish-blue background, with lighter subjects in the center of his canvas. He has been exhibited in Haiti and the United States.
