Collection: Spiritual/Voodoo Scenes

Spiritual and Vodou themes have shaped Haitian painting since the earliest days of the country's art movement, reflecting a tradition deeply woven into the nation's culture and daily life. Artists working in this genre draw on ceremony, symbolism, and the spirit world, often rendered through vivid color and layered imagery rather than literal illustration. For collectors, these paintings offer a distinctive way into Haiti's cultural and spiritual heritage, spanning early masters who worked almost exclusively within this tradition to later generations who reinterpret it in more abstract or contemporary styles.
