コレクション: Albott Bonhomme (Haitian, b. 1963)

Self-taught Haitian artist Albott Bonhomme, born in 1963 in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, is widely recognized for his vibrant paintings of tropical birds set within lush, oasis-like forest environments. Since becoming a professional artist in 1990, Bonhomme has developed a distinctive style that blends detailed wildlife imagery with richly atmospheric landscapes. His work is especially admired by collectors in the United States and Japan and has been exhibited internationally. Bonhomme’s tropical forest scenes are not only visually captivating but also carry an underlying message about the environmental concerns facing Haiti today. As noted by Gérald Alexis in Peintres Haïtiens (Éditions Cercle d’Art, 2000), his compositions “powerfully illustrate the environmental challenges confronting Haiti.” Through evocative portrayals of birds, foliage, and vibrant natural settings, Albott Bonhomme invites viewers to reflect on both the beauty and fragility of Haiti’s landscape.
