Description

Eric Jean-Louis (1957–2022) masterfully evokes Haitian poetic symbolism in Freeing the Dove, a luminous oil on canvas that immerses the viewer in a dense tropical sanctuary of layered greens, flowering plants, and misted waterfalls. At the heart of the composition, a graceful figure in white releases a dove into the air—a quiet, uplifting gesture that reads as freedom, hope, and spiritual renewal. Jean-Louis’s signature depth, crisp detailing, and velvety color transitions create a striking visual experience that instantly elevates a room, making this work an exceptional focal point for collectors seeking a refined, museum-worthy example of modern Haitian painting. This artwork comes from the private collection of Georges S. Nader in New York and will be shipped directly from the collection. It is offered for sale as-is in good condition. A Certificate of Authenticity will be issued by Myriam Nader Haitian Art Gallery upon purchase.
