This stunning 72"x36" painting, signed by the late and well-known Haitian artist Prospere Pierre Louis from the Saint Soleil School, represents an abstract Vodou scene of spirits. It is an original acrylic on canvas signed in the bottom left corner and dated 81. It belongs to a private collector in Louisiana, where it will be shipped. Prospere Pierre Louis was born in 1947 in Jacmel and died in 1997. He belonged to the Saint Soleil school. His art is internationally appreciated, and his references are in all major books about Haitian art. In his art book Peintres Haitiens, Gerald Alexis describes the artist as "an elder of the Saint-Soleil Movement; Pierre Louis was among the first to attempt this fascinating experience."
