Description
Description
This vintage signed jungle landscape by Philton Latortue is a vibrant example of Haitian naïve painting from the Cap-Haïtien school. A tiger bends to drink at the water’s edge while a deer stands alert within the lush tropical forest. Layered trees, radiant greenery, and intricate detailing bring the wildlife scene to life, reflecting the poetic vitality and saturated color palette characteristic of Haiti’s jungle tradition. Created during Latortue’s desirable the 1970's period, this vintage Haitian wildlife painting is increasingly sought after by collectors of Caribbean and naïve art. Condition: Minor edge wear to the canvas from a previous frame; the overall presentation remains very good, and the wear will be concealed with proper framing.
