About this artist

Gerard Fortune (born 1925) began painting in 1978 and is known as a houngan, pastry chef, and painter whose talent gained wider recognition after author Selden Rodman highlighted his work in Where Art Is Joy. Fortune’s paintings have been exhibited internationally and are held in permanent collections including the Waterloo Museum of Art in Iowa and Ramapo College in New Jersey.
