About this artist

Felix Jean was born in Anse-a-Vau, Haiti in 1929 and died in 1978. He started at the Centre d'Art in 1950 and studied under Pierre Monosiet. He participated in all major exhibitions of the Centre d'Artnin Europe, U.S. and South America. His work was featured on Barbancourt Rhum labels over the years. His subject is often colorful markets filled with people with heavily outlined leaves or foliage.
