About this artist

Roody Saincila is a Haitian artist born in Petit Goâve, Haiti, on February 15, 1987. who uses his work to raise awareness about important issues and inspire hope and resilience within his community. Through his paintings, he encourages young people, particularly women, to remain strong and hopeful, even in difficult times.   From childhood, he was passionate about painting, and his grandfather told him real or imaginary stories before going to sleep. Roody imagined paintings corresponding to each scene in these stories. Throughout his youth, the arts attracted him. In 2005-2006, Roody followed artistic training at the Ateliers Mario ARISTHENE in Petit-Goâve. There, he acquired essential skills in painting, such as mixing colors, elements of perspective, light and shadow, etc. He also learned about papier-mâché techniques. In 2021, he joined the Centre d'art Haiti, where Frantz Zephirin taught him the arts. Roody Saincila's art is not just a collection of paintings; it's a window into his soul. Each stroke on the canvas manifests his emotions: joy, intensity, dynamism, and audacity. The energy that permeates his art is a testament to his profound desire for exploration, renewal, and the constant push to surpass his artistic boundaries. His art demands the audience to connect with his emotional journey. Saincila's paintings use vibrant and intense colors to catch the viewer's attention and draw them into his message. His art has been displayed in several galleries overseas, including the Galerie Emeraude Michel in Canada, the Nassau County Museum of Arts, and the Myriam Nader Art Gallery in New York.
