Description

This is an original naive painting signed by the late renowned Haitian artist Dieuseul Paul, dated 1981. Dieuseul Paul was one of the founders of the Saint Soleil movement in Haiti and passed away in 2006. Please note that this painting sustained minor damage during the earthquake.

About this artist

Haitian artist Dieuseul Paul, born in 1952 in Damiens, made a significant impact on the art world. As a founding member of the Saint-Soleil group of artists, which was championed by André Malraux, Paul began his painting journey in 1974. His work is prominently featured in several important publications, including "Haiti: Art Naif, Art Vodou" (1988), "Where Art is Joy" (Rodman, 1988), and "Dialogue du Réel et de l’Imaginaire" (1990).
