Grégory Vorbe was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1966. Trained as a graphic designer, he developed a distinctive artistic style inspired by Haiti's cultural traditions, spirituality, music, and natural environment.Drawing on Vodou symbolism, indigenous influences, and Caribbean identity, Vorbe creates richly textured paintings that blend abstract forms with environmental and spiritual themes. Working primarily in acrylic, he often incorporates mixed media elements such as sand, wood, fabric, paper, and leather to enhance the depth and originality of his compositions. His travels throughout Haiti and his passion for music have played a significant role in shaping his artistic vision. During the 1990s, Vorbe received an award in Miami at his first international group exhibition.
