About this artist
Paul Jn-Pierre was born in 1946 in Jacmel, Haiti. His parents were farmers, as are his four brothers and two sisters. He is married and has four children. Jean-Pierre worked as a house painter until he was 35 at which time he taught himself to paint on canvas. (Island on Fire by Jonathan Demme and Edwidge Danticat)
