About this artist

The late famous Haitian master, Carlo Jn-Jacques was from the Foyer des Arts Plastiques. He was born on May 1st, 1943, and died in 1990 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He paints the social injustice in his country with strong emotions, great purity, and long lines. His art is jealously kept among private collectors in Europe & the United States. "Jean-Jacques Carlo's art might be defined as depicting the poetry of wretchedness," says Gerald Alexis in his book Peintres Haitiens. Get the book Peintres Haitiens here!
