Description
Description
In this expressive composition, Claude Dambreville captures a quiet yet powerful moment of daily life in Haiti. Four women and a child, rendered in his signature interplay of shadow and light, stand and sit among baskets of fruit in a sunlit marketplace. The artist’s use of muted earth tones, contrasted with bright whites and ochres, brings warmth and dignity to this familiar rural scene. With simplified forms and carefully balanced light, Dambreville conveys both the strength and grace of Haitian women—symbols of resilience, labor, and community.
From a private collector in Connecticut, this painting will be shipped unframed directly from the collector. A Certificate of Authenticity will be issued by Myriam Nader Haitian Art Gallery upon purchase.
