This is an original museum piece signed by the late Haitian Master artist Philome Obin (1892-1986) from the foundation Marie & Georges S. Nader collection and is now for sale. This 18"x22" painting on board depicts a woman in blue walking on a deserted street in Cap Haitien. The painting is entitled "Rue Petit-Fort St-Michel de la Petite-Anse."

About this artist

Philome Obin was born in Limbe in 1891 and died in Cap Haitian in 1986. He was self-taught and one of the first Haitian artists to marvel at the world with his naive art. His art is referred to in all major books on Haitian art and mentioned by many art critics internationally.
