Collection: Philippe Dodard (Haitian, b.1954)

Philippe Dodard (b. 1954, Port-au-Prince, Haiti) is a Haitian painter, graphic artist, and multidisciplinary creator known for angular, architectonic compositions that organize space without traditional perspective. Trained at the PotoMitan Art School under Jean-Claude “Tiga” Garoute, Patrick Vilaire, and Frido Casimir, he later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and specialized in graphic design in Bordeaux, France. Dodard’s work blends structure, rhythm, and symbolic abstraction, reflecting his background in graphic design and visual communication. His practice extends beyond painting to include sculpture, ironwork, and jewelry, creating a distinctive modern Haitian aesthetic. His work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and the Americas and has influenced fashion and contemporary art, notably inspiring Donna Karan’s Spring 2012 collection. Today, Dodard’s work is highly sought after for its originality, design clarity, and cross-disciplinary appeal. Explore available works below.
