The late Haitian painter Fritzner Alphonse painted these three portraits in oil on canvas against a greenish background. The well-acclaimed Haitian art critic Gerald Alexis carefully chose it to be part of the Foundation Marie & Marie S. Nader collection, and it is now for sale at Myriam Nader Haitian Art Gallery in New York. Our gallery will issue a certificate of authenticity upon purchase.

About this artist

Fritzner Alphonse was born in Port-au-Price, Haiti, in 1938 and died in 2006. He first worked as a leather tanner until 1974. Then later introduced to painting by the famous Haitian artist Calixte Henry. His favorite subjects are female black figures in numerous variations. The U.S., Europe, Japan, Mexico, and the Caribbean have exhibited his works. He created a large mural in Miami, Florida, and the Bon Appetit Magazine featured him in the 1990's. Some known Haitian art books cited his art.
