Edouard Duval Carrié is a contemporary Haitian-American artist, sculptor, and curator based in Miami, Florida. Born and raised in Haiti in 1954, Duval Carrié fled the regime of "Papa Doc" Duvalier as a teenager and subsequently resided in locales as diverse as Puerto Rico, New York, Montreal, Paris, Miami. Duval-Carrié studied at the Université de Montréal and McGill University in Canada before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College, Montréal in 1978. He later attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France, from 1988 to 1989. He exhibited in Europe and the Americas.
