This is a serene original 12"x16" acrylic on canvas depicting a landscape by self-taught Haitian artist, Jean Adrien Seide who was born in Cayes in 1952.
Seide moved to Venezuela when his father passed away. He paints landscapes that are extremely structured, with a series of fields spreading out towards a distant horizon. At first glance, his paintings look representational but a more detailed examination leads to a fascination and the fantastic element predominates over the immediate reality. He has exhibited in Haiti, Ottawa, Montreal, and Miami. "Horizontal lines evoking fields cross the vertical lines of trees to create a coherent landscape." (Peintres Haitiens by Gerald Alexis). His art is internationally collected and exhibited. www.naderhaitianart.com
