Joseph Jn-Laurent, the late self-taught renowned Haitian painter, created this beautiful, colorful 16"x 24" watercolor of a rural scene on paper. The artwork is framed under glass and from the private collection of Myriam F. Nader. It is in good condition. 

About this artist

The late self-taught painter Joseph Jn-Laurent was born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, in 1893 and died in 1976. He worked as a tailor in Port-au-Prince and Grande Rivière du Nord before starting to paint in 1965 at age 72. He joined the Centre d'Art in 1974, two years before his death. His art is held permanently by the Georges S. Nader Art Museum in Haiti, the Milwaukee Museum of Art, the Waterloo Museum of Art in Iowa, and the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC. His art is scarce in the art marketplace.
